Our Doctrine
Grace
“Luli”, this was the first word the founder of the church heard when he was called (See Constitution). Luli means Grace. This is the new covenant, the New Testament that Jesus made: salvation through the grace of God. Celestial Church of Christ is built upon this foundation. We operate under grace, recognizing that it is not us but He who is faithful and that all that we receive from Him is the result of grace. As one of our hymns states, we “hold on to the pillar of our Lord Jesus…that we might be saved”. Only Jesus saves.
Power of Prayer
We are all about prayer in celestial church of christ and we testify to the effectiveness of prayer. In the church, we spend a significant portion of time praying. During the week, we gather to pray about various things, and the Lord answers. We strongly emphasize prayer gatherings in the church and we encourage all to spend time in prayer. The believer is strengthened by prayer, God hears prayers, and we receive from God through prayer. Prayer works. You can submit a prayer request here if you would like us to pray for you. Just have faith.
The Trinity
We believe in a triune God (God in three persons) embodied by God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ) and the Holy Spirit.
Manifestation/Gifts of the Holy Spirit
Celestial Church of Christ is a charismatic church. The fulfillment of the promise Jesus made to give the Holy Spirit to believers is evident in the church. We believe that God remains the same yesterday, today, and forever and as such, the gifts of the Holy Spirit experienced by those in the Old and New Testament have not faded away. In fact, these gifts are still very much available for today’s believers and in celestial church of christ, many have the gifts of the Holy Spirit (See Joel 2:28, Acts 1:8, Acts 2, 1 Corinthians 12: 1 – 11).
The Five Ministries
“And he himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors, and teachers” (See Ephesians 4:11). We believe that the five ministries are integral to the church and are essential for a complete ministry.
Tenets of the Church
God is holy and demands that those who worship him must also be holy. For this purpose, we hold fast to the tenets of Celestial Church of Christ as revealed by the Holy Spirit. (See Tenets)
